RAZICKY PRAZEC is a festival of folk, trampish and country music with tradition more than twenty years. This festival is considered as fabled music event with at least regional significance and its renown has already spread around over the region. Razicky prazec is held every year at first weekend in June in a village Razice near a town Pisek in Southern Bohemia. This festival was held for the first time in 1984. Until 2003 it was held only on Saturday afternoon. By 2004 (the 20th year`s anniversary of organizing of festival) the programm has expanded in Friday evening programm. About fifteen bands and soloists regularly perform during a programm of festival. New unknown musicians perform every year during festival besides several well-known performers. This is one of nice important principles of this festival - to enable performing for beginning musicians in public. The festival is held in beautiful surroundings of picturesque birch spinney in amphitheatre in Razice. The surroundings of amphitheatre is pleasant above all with its cosiness and segmentation. In the amphitheatre there are naturally separated sections of auditorium and refreshments in the way, that one part does not disturb the other part.
It is said, the festivals are in addition of music about meeting people in the first place. This truth is valid about Prazec doubly. Not only visitors but also musicians, which do not actually perform here, come back on the festival again and again. It is because of familial atmosphere that every visitor can feel all around - after oficial programm a collective jam usually continues during the night by morning hours. Not every festival can show off so long history, and a favour of visitors persuades us to continue every year in this tradition. We would be glad to meet you at the first weekend of June in Razice.
